Having been part of previous Men’s league campaigns both coaches bring a wealth of experience and a real passion for Futsal to the Northern Federation team.
The NFF Futsal team squad is scheduled to be named in early October with an initial squad of 20 players selected to complete over three Regional Series which lead into the National Finals Series scheduled for 8 – 10 December in Auckland.
Head Coach Ouadhah Ragued said “It’s great to be involved with NFF for another campaign and I am certainly looking forward to the challenge of taking the NFF Men’s team to the finals of the National Futsal League. The departure of previous head coach Felipe will not make that easy but the squad is looking good and they’re excited about this campaign”
Assistant Coach Nikola Velkovski commented “I am very excited to show what our NFF boys will bring to the Men’s National Tournament this year. In 2015, we put together an almost brand-new team with the intention of improving as a unit for the upcoming years. The NFF management and coaches have been working very hard over the last two years to help develop and advance the team, bringing them up to a highly competitive level.”
“Last year, we almost qualified for the play offs. This year, our team feels stronger and more eager to do better. With a few experienced additions to the team, I believe we will be the team to watch out for this coming year”
A full list of the NFF Men’s Futsal Squad will be posted in early October.
Northern Football is committed to the growth of Futsal in NZ and will be aiming to use this opportunity to promote both Male and Female Futsal within the region.
